Yesterday my ward had an Enrichment activity. We drove up to Salt Lake to listen to Music and the Spoken Word. It was so great! It was the 80th year celebration so there were some added things.
The music was great and is now the oldest continuous nationwide network broadcast in America.
After the the broadcast they had a few people get up and say a few things. We were a little anxious because we needed to leave in time to make it back to church on time, but President Monson was going to speak and we really wanted to listen to the Prophet. When he got up there he told a story about a family in Canada. The mother and daughter were interested in the church and wanted to get the dad to come to church with them. One Sunday we agreed to go but before they went they got into an argument and he said he wouldn't go. While the mom and girl were gone he decided to go turn on his daughter's radio to listen to the news and calm down. When he turned on the radio Music and the Spoken Word was on and the guy doing the announcing was giving a message about not being angry. The man loved the songs and the message. When the wife and daughter returned they asked him why he was so calm. He then told them about the radio and the broadcast. The daughter then replied that her radio hadn't worked for several weeks. The dad took them upstairs to show them that it did but when he tried to turn it on it would not turn on. Nothing worked. I thought that this was an awesome story and it shows you that when the Lord needs or wants you to listen He will make it possible. We were a little late for church but we had a GREAT time. If you are ever in the area on a Sunday morning I strongly recommend that you attend!

That's a great story. I think I have heard it before. How neat that you got to hear him speak while you were there.
