The last few weeks have been pretty busy, most of it has been filled with lots of fun. Awhile back Cory was offered to join the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. (It means he's smart).
He was not too excited about me taking his picture but I have to document how handsome he looked.
We went to campus and they had a little induction ceremony. They had a
speaker that won gold at the Olympics in the pole vault. It was nice and
we hope this will give him something good to put on his resume along
with the volunteer hours they offer.
Later that night some friends had offered us to go with them to the ASU
game. It was a lot of fun and the first college game that wasn't BYU.

Several months before Cory's birthday I found this recipe for cookie
dough cheesecake. I thought is was the perfect thing to make for him as
cookie dough and cheesecake are his favorite. Well with everything going
on the weekend of his birthday it didn't get made. A few weeks later I
finally found the time to put it together (very simple) and he loved it.
I may have only had one piece and a few bites here and there.
Cory had fall break Monday and Tuesday of this week. We didn't have
any plans until Cory suggested that we stay in Lori's (the nurse
practitioner I work with) cabin. She has offered us to stay in it
several times and we never found the time to do it but I'm so glad we
finally did.
The weather was beautiful. Saturday night we decided
to try and local restaurant. We found this little place call The Lion's
Den. It was pretty good.
There was a chapel just down the street from all the cabins so we went to church and ran into one of Cory's friends from high school. Afterward we took out the golf cart and drove around. There were some huge, beautiful cabins in the area. It was a little windy so we didn't stay out too long.
Later that evening we headed over to some of Cory's grandparents that lived only a couple of miles from where we were. I had never met Grandpa Bass so it was great to spend some time with family. We showed up just in time for dinner :) and stayed for about 4 hours just talking.
The weekend was great and we enjoyed the fall colors that we don't get to see much of down here. We just relaxed and had a much needed break from work and school.
